Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 of the 6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari: Arrival at the airport in Kigali
On arrival at Kanombe Airport in Kigali, you will be received by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2: Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes
In the morning, you may opt for a city tour – visit the genocide memorial site, national museum, etc. After lunch enjoys a scenic drive to the Volcanoes national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
Spend the evening at Iby’wachu Cultural Village where you will learn more about the Banyarwanda cultural practices and their tradition.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Nature Walk
This morning attend to briefs from the senior park ranger. The tour guide will transfer you to the starting point of the gorilla’s trail along with other trackers. Upon encountering the gorillas, spend at least an hour taking photography and observing their fascinating acrobatics.
Later return to your Hotel for Relaxation. In the evening, you may go for a cultural walk, where you will be entertained by the Banyarwanda community, or go for a nature walk to the lakes and caves.
Day 4: Diana Fossey Hike and transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning, you may undertake a hike up to the Karisoke research center, established by Dian Fossey. Learn more about the activities of Dian Fossey in mountain gorilla conservation. On return, you will transfer to Lake Kivu.
Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe with en route stopovers for photography and lunch.
Day 6: Departure, end of the 6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari
After breakfast transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before embarking on chimp tracking; later transfer back to Kigali with en route visit to the King’s Palace at Nyanza, Butare Museums, and Murambi Genocide Memorial Site.
